Quincy Trouppe’s 20+ year baseball career was typical of many black stars of the day. He played for numerous Negro League teams (including many of the storied franchises – KC Monarchs, Homestead Grays, Chicago American Giants, St. Louis Stars, etc.), he traveled the globe (spending several seasons in Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico), he was accomplished in several phases of the game (he was a brilliant defensive catcher, a solid hitter, and a proficient manager), and he had several productive seasons in organized baseball at an advanced age once the color barrier was broken (even getting 10 at bats with the Cleveland Indians in 1952 at the age of 39). He was a five time participant in the annual East West all star game, and was once traded along with Fireball Smith for eighty thousand Mexican workers during WWII.

This card is in typically low grade for the issue, but still has a very nice image.
