Johnny Davis was a star in the Negro Leagues throughout the 1940’s as a power hitting outfielder for the Newark Eagles, and was selected to the East-West game three times. He was much more versatile during his winters in Puerto Rico where he was also a star pitcher, even throwing a no-hitter in 1944 and winning the MVP award in 1947-48. The big slugger was a consistent .300+ hitter with good power numbers.
This great-looking color card is in beautiful EX-MT condition with a terrific image, square corners, nice centering, and no creases. The blank back is clean and unscathed. This is just about as nice as these come.
