1945-46 Caramelo Deportivo card #25 of HOF 3rd baseman Ray Dandridge. Card is graded SGC 1 due to heavy creasing and some print loss on the back. The print is actually faint (not totally gone) and the card does not show any obvious paper loss. Like many in the set, this card actually features at least two different back variations, and this is an "error" of sorts due to a misspelling of "shortsotp" which is faintly visible in the scan. This is actually the most common of the 2 backs, with the corrected version being more rare.
The cards in the Caramelo Deportivo issues measure approximately 1 7/8" by 2 5/8". They are paper thin and were designed to be pasted into albums. Most cards in circulation have been removed from their albums, and back damage is common. Fronts feature a black-and-white photo surrounded by a thin black border and creamy white margins, with the card number in a small circle at the bottom. Backs list the player's name, brief bio, and a promotional advertisement for the issuer, "Felices.”
