1923-24 Nacionales Cigarros card #C-29 of Jose Maria Fernandez, graded SGC 3. This is a pop 8 card in all grades at SGC with only 2 higher. José María Fernández is a Cuban Baseball Auctions favorite, a true baseball lifer and Cuban HOF who deserves a spot in Cooperstown for his overall contributions to baseball both as a player and as a manager.

Nacionales Cigarros cards feature striking black-and-white real-photo portraits on small paper stock measuring roughly 1½" x 2½". The 40-card set was distributed with Nacionales cigars and includes advertising text on the reverse. The issue is especially important for its early appearances of Negro League and Cuban stars such as Cristóbal Torriente, José Méndez, Andy Cooper, Adolfo Luque, and Alejandro Oms.
