1949-50 Toleteros of Otoniel Ortiz. Ortiz was a Cuban infield prospect (third base/second base) who played primarily in the U.S. minor leagues and lower-level affiliated ball in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
The second Toleteros set in ‘49-50 expanded to 216 cards and retained the game-card concept. Measuring about 1¼" x 2¼", the cards feature black-and-white portrait photography with player names below the image. They were distributed in Puerto Rico and included numerous Negro League and Major League stars.
