1945-46 Caramelo Deportivo Album 99/100 (all cards are trimmed). The 1945–46 Caramelo Deportivo album is widely regarded as one of the most important and visually compelling Cuban baseball issues of the postwar era, celebrated for its exceptional checklist and historically significant player selection. Issued as a candy premium, collectors would assemble the set by pasting individual player cards into a printed album. This complete example includes all 99/100 cards, missing only #73 Napoleon Reyes. The Reyes card was uniquely distributed as a completion reward, obtainable only after assembling the first 99 cards and submitting the finished album to the factory for final assembly. Due to this process, most collectors consider 99/100 a complete album, as surviving examples with the Reyes card intact are exceedingly rare and highly coveted.

The Caramelo Deportivo set is especially prized for its extraordinary roster of talent, featuring a deep and diverse representation of Negro League stars, Cuban legends, and Major League players who competed in Cuba. Notable inclusions among Negro League greats include Hall of Famers Martín Dihigo, Ray Dandridge, Minnie Miñoso and Ray Brown. Additional standout Negro League names include Lázaro Salazar, Booker McDaniels, Julio Rojo, Bartolo Portuondo, Pedro Formental, Cecil Kaiser, Cocaina Garcia, Terris McDuffie, Alejandro Crespo, Silvio Garcia, Carlos Colas, Luis Tiant, Hector Rodríguez, Lloyd Davenport, Ramon Bragaña, and Avelino Cañizares, among others. The set also features Major League players who participated in Cuban winter ball, including Sal Maglie, Beto Avila, and Dick Sisler, as well as legendary Cuban figures such as Adolfo Luque, Miguel González, and Armando Marsans in their later careers as managers and coaches. This example, while in overall poor condition, remains highly desirable to advanced collectors due to its extreme rarity and completeness. All of the cards are trimmed as issued and neatly pasted into the album pages, consistent with the original factory assembly process.

The album itself shows significant wear consistent with age and handling, including general deterioration throughout. Despite the condition issues, the survival of this album makes this a highly important and sought-after Cuban baseball artifact.
