1952-53 Victoria of #102 Lorenzo “Chiquitin” Cabrera, in a CGC 1, from the Richard Merkin Collection. Cabrera was a Cuban player who logged 11 seasons in Cuba and several seasons for the NY Cubans in American Negro Leagues.

Issued in Cuba during the 1952-53 Winter League season, the Victoria set contains 168 cards measuring approximately 2?" x 3?". The cards feature colorized player photographs on thin paper stock and were intended to be mounted into an album, which is why many surviving examples show glue or album wear. Backs are printed in Spanish and include player biographies, statistics, and card numbers. The set includes Cuban stars, Negro Leaguers, and Major League players, and is especially admired for its colorful design and scarcity.
