(2 items) Sharp ephemera / postcard lot of Cuban Winter League promotional pieces celebrating the Habana team. A companion piece to lot 91, this time celebrating the Habana Leones. The promo piece reads “The red firewood takes a while, but it arrives.” In Cuban baseball slang this phrase implies a rally, comeback, or payback was coming. “Leña roja” (“red firewood”) is an obvious nod to the team colors. The postcard reads “!Huye, que te coge el Leon! & Felicadades 1950 Habana,” which translates to “Run, the Lion will catch you!”

Felicidades 1950 Almendares measures approximately 6" x 3¾ and the !Hue, que te coge el Leon! measures approximately 5.5"x3.5".
