1943 La Ambrosia lot of (10). Doy, Mato, Morell, Leon, Jimenez, Quicutis, Valdes, Aloma, Martinez, Luis Suarez.
The La Ambrosia issue is a large Cuban amateur baseball card set issued as part of a cigarette/confection-style album promotion, produced during the early 1940s peak of Cuban amateur baseball. It consists of a large checklist, organized by teams from Cuba’s amateur and industrial leagues.
Cards are small (about 1½" x 2½") and printed on thin paper stock, designed to be glued into a dedicated album that included player spaces, team sections, and brief biographical text. Many surviving examples show album residue or back damage because they were not intended to be preserved loose.
