1950-51 Toleteros In Action #115 of Negro Leaguer Artie Wilson PSA 1. This is a pop 2 cards in any grade at PSA.
Batting .402 in 1948, Wilson became the final player in major/top-level Negro League history to reach the .400 benchmark. Along with Piper Davis, Wilson was a key mentor to 17-year-old rookie Willie Mays on the Black Barons in 1948. He won batting titles in both the Negro American League and the Pacific Coast League.
The standard 1950-51 Toleteros issue marked a major visual upgrade, switching to color photography and larger cards measuring roughly 1¾" x 2½". Unlike the earlier sets, these cards are blank-backed rather than game cards. The issue is especially prized for its striking photography and legendary player roster, including rare cards of Negro League stars such as Josh Gibson. The set consists of a 180 card main set and a 178 card “In Action” subset as seen here.
