Lot Description  

1949-50 Toleteros card of Luis R. Cabrera. One of the greats of Puerto Rican baseball. His nickname was "El Tigre" but he was also known as "Cabrerita." Cabrera and Negro Leaguer Bill Byrd were the aces of the 1939-40 Santurce team. He was among those to greet a Pan Am Clipper at the airport on October 20, 1939. On that plane was his new catcher, Josh Gibson.

Cabrera was the MVP for the 1940-41 season.

Card is in VG to VG/EX condition.
