Lot Description  

1949-50 Toleteros card of Diomedes Olivo. Also known as "Guayuvin" or "Guayubin" after his home town in the Dominican Republic. Olivo is known as one of the all-time greatest pitchers from the Dominican Republic and is enshrined in their baseball HOF. He pitched the first no-hitter in league history in 1947. At the age of 41 he pitched 4 key games down the stretch to help the Pirates win the 1960 National League pennant on their way to a World Series victory.
