This is an absolutely spectacular card of overlooked Negro League star Clint Thomas that has been graded 70 (EX+) by SGC. The image is incredibly sharp and detailed with great contrast, the corners are sharp, the surfaces and edges are all clean – it must have been the centering that kept this card from grading even higher. Thomas was a legitimate star in the Negro League who excelled in every phase of the game, most notably for the great Hilldale clubs of the mid-1920’s. He was a fleet outfielder with a great arm, a terrific hitter with surprising power, and an accomplished base stealer. His career .310 average for six seasons in the tough Cuban Winter League ranks very high on the all time list.
